Welcome to the Blog!
HealthPoint’s vaccine team had a busy weekend providing accessible healthcare to Brazos Valley residents, young and old. You can check out photos taken during our Saturday clinic at Memorial (Bryan) and our Sunday clinic in Downtown Bryan below.
Healthcare for children in the Brazos Valley
Today is national #CareForKids day. There’s a lot that goes into caring for kids. First, we know taking care of kids helps build strong and healthy communities, and that’s what HealthPoint is all about! Well-child visits are a time when parents and guardians can meet with a provider. Providers encourage patients to ask questions during their visits about their child’s health. This practice helps ensure their child is developing normally. HealthPoint provides healthcare for kids from birth to adulthood. Most babies have their first well-child visit when they’re just a few days old.
Second, In Texas, 12.7% of children do not have health insurance1. Therefore, they are more likely to have unmet health needs and lack a usual source of care. Moreover, this diminishes their chances of growing into healthy and productive adults. That is why at HealthPoint’s there are no restrictions or eligibility requirements to receive care at our clinics. Because of our status as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide care to anyone, regardless of income, residency status, employment, health insurance coverage, or ability to pay for services. You do not have to be a resident of any specific city, county, or area to access our services.
Third, HealthPoint does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), religion, disability, age, gender, or sexual orientation.
Whether it’s performing a physical exam, taking care of an upset tummy, or coaching parents on playground safety, our providers and staff positively impact our patients’ lives every day. Are you a HealthPoint patient yet?
