Dr. Kristel Leubner, D.O., is a board-certified family medicine physician with a passion for evidence-based medicine and preventive health. She has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care, combining her love for problem-solving with a deep commitment to improving quality of life for her patients.
Dr. Leubner completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin before earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from The University of North Texas Health Science Center. She then completed her family medicine residency at the Waco Family Medicine Residency Program, where she trained in rural, international, and mission-based medicine. She became board-certified in family medicine in 2008.

Family Medicine with a Holistic Approach
Dr. Leubner has been drawn to medicine since childhood, seeing it as both a calling and a challenge. She enjoys the investigative process of diagnosing root causes, developing treatment plans, and continuously learning to provide the best care possible.
She began her career in 2008 with St. Joseph Medical Group, providing ambulatory, hospital, skilled nursing, and long-term care for 13 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as Burleson County Health Officer, helping guide public health efforts. In 2021, she transitioned to a hospitalist role at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan and College Station, also serving as Physician Advisor for the hospital system and working in the Chronic Heart Failure and Coumadin Clinic.
In August 2022, she founded Leubner Medical Services, PLLC, providing contract care for post-acute and long-term care patients and offering hospice services through Hospice Brazos Valley.
Dr. Leubner has been involved with HealthPoint since 2013, when St. Joseph Medical Group partnered with the organization. She was drawn to HealthPoint’s mission and commitment to community health, which aligns with her personal values and approach to medicine. She is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and sharing her enthusiasm for healthcare with both patients and colleagues.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Leubner is an avid sports and outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys playing piano, golf, tennis, pickleball, basketball, and baseball with her two sons and church group. She also loves hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs at her family’s ranch.
