What’s the difference between an MD and DO?
Most patients can’t tell whether their doctor is an MD or DO. From an education standpoint, there’s really not a lot of difference. The reason for the difference in designation comes down to philosophy. DOs focus on holistic treatments, emphasizing a “whole-person” approach to care. They put great emphasis on preventive care.
