Meet Katie Jo Light, MD

Dr. Katie Jo Light, MD, joined the HealthPoint team in 2024.  She is here to provide care for you and your growing family, so book your appointment today!  

Education:

Dr. Light went to Angelo State University for undergrad, where she was also an All-American volleyball player! Then, she was accepted through the Honors Early Acceptance Program to attend Texas Tech’s Medical School. There, Katie Jo Light, MD, fell in love with women’s health and obstetrics, especially within the realm of Family Medicine. She felt this was where she could truly care for the whole family. Dr. Light then had the privilege to train at one of the premiere Family Medicine residencies in the US, Texas A&M, where she served as the Advanced Obstetrics chief.

Professional Career:

Dr. Light is contracted to work at Healthpoint to provide Obstetrics and Women’s Health Care, which is her passion. Dr. Light spends the rest of her time working with the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency program, where she gets to care for the whole family in the clinic and hospital, perform various inpatient and outpatient procedures, and help train and teach the next generation of full-scope Family Medicine Physicians.
