Meet Medical Provider Michael Burrows, APRN, FNP-C:

Medical Provider Michael Burrows, APRN, FNP-C, practices in our ABC Clinic in College Station and would love to have the opportunity to care for you and your family!

Education:

Undergraduate: Michael Completed a double major bachelor’s in biology/animal science with a minor in chemistry in 2004 at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. He then went on to get his nursing degrees (Associates and Bachelors) in 2010 at Angelo State University as well. Finally, he completed his Masters in Nursing at Texas A&M in the Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2021.

Professional Career:

Michael worked his way up through the ‘ranks’ of healthcare. He started in the US Navy as a corpsman serving alongside the US Marines. He was licensed as a paramedic and served in that capacity on several professional ambulance services. Michael then got his nursing degree and worked primarily in critical care (ER/ED and ICU) before finally becoming a Nurse Practitioner license and moving into a provider role.

Michael has a passion for rural healthcare, having worked in two rural health communities/jobs before Joining HealthPoint in 2022. He likes the mission of FQHCs and said that being able to actually treat patients without so many concerns regarding insurance they have and if they do, is a welcome change.

“I got into medicine for the obvious reason: to help people. I really like the melange of practical science and medicine is one of the best applications of it.”

“I am a die hard Aggie and bleed Maroon. I am a veteran. I have 2 dogs, a border collie and a welsh corgi. I am a family man with a wife and a 4 (almost 5) year old daughter. We are really looking forward to making a home here and being a part of this community. “
