Education:
After leaving the US Navy, Jerry went to Sam Houston State University for premedical studies. He then went to Parker Chiropractic College to earn a Chiropractic Degree. Ten years later Jerry decided to attend Wayland Baptist University to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He then attended Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi and earned a Family Nurse Practitioner Degree. After earning the Family Nurse Practitioner Degree, Jerry went back to school at the University of Texas at Arlington to earn a post-masters in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Professional Career:
Jerry served the Brazos County Community as a Chiropractor for 13 years. He then worked as a Registered Nurse for CHI St. Joseph for 10 years. After leaving CHI St. Joseph, Jerry worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Quick Visit Urgent Care in Madisonville for several months before joining HealthPoint as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Hearne, Texas.

I was initially drawn to work at HealthPoint due to the mission of helping the community of Robertson County and Hearne in bringing affordable and quality healthcare to their community. My passion is working in smaller cities and rural communities helping those communities in the pursuit of health and happiness.

Jerry Lloyd, FNP had this to share about why he chose to go into the healthcare field:
I love to serve. I served in the US Navy as a submariner and after getting out of service went to school to be a Chiropractor. After serving the Brazos County as a Chiropractor for 10 years, I felt that God was leading me to nursing and so I went back to school to earn my nursing degree. In time I went to nurse practitioner school. I enjoy going to church and following around my youngest child as she plays multiple sports that takes us all over the state of Texas. I also enjoy hiking and hunting.
